Landscape Installation

A new landscape is soil work with plants on top. We set the grade, fix where the water goes, then plant something that can live in it — in that order, because reversing them is how a yard looks perfect in April and drowns in June.

What you get

  1. Grade before greenery

Before a single plant is chosen we walk the property in the rain — or read where the last rain went. Fall away from the slab, bed heights, and the low corner get settled first. Everything after that is easier and lasts longer.

  2. A plant palette for this ground

Heat-hardy and wet-tolerant species, sited for how the sun actually crosses your lot and how far the canopy will spread in fifteen years. No catalogue photograph has ever survived a Louisiana August.

  3. One crew, one supervisor

The same people from the first spade to the final walk-through, with a supervisor whose phone you have. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor halfway through.

  4. An itemised estimate

Plants, materials, soil prep and labour listed line by line, so you can see what each part costs and take a phase out if you want to. The number quoted is the number invoiced.

How it goes

  1. Walk the property

We look at drainage, sun, soil and how you actually use the yard — then say plainly what is worth doing. Plenty of yards need a refresh and a regrade, not a redesign, and that is what we will tell you.

  2. Plan and price it

Bed layouts, plant palette, materials and a phase plan if the whole thing is more than this year's budget. You see the drawing and the itemised price together.

  3. Install, clean, hand over

Beds cut, soil prepped, plants set, sod rolled, debris hauled. We finish with a walk-through and written care notes — watering matters most in the first month and we would rather you had it on paper.

Questions we hear a lot

What does a landscape installation cost in Baton Rouge?

It depends almost entirely on square footage, plant size and whether drainage work is needed. Rather than quote a range you cannot hold us to, we price your property line by line after a free walk-through and stand by that number.

How long does an installation take?

Most residential front-yard installs run one to three working days. Add drainage or hardscape and it becomes a week or so. You get the schedule in writing before anything starts.

When is the best time to plant in Louisiana?

Autumn through early spring is ideal — roots establish before the heat. With irrigation in place we plant successfully year-round, but a summer install needs more water and more patience.

Do you fix drainage as part of an installation?

Where it is needed, yes, and we will say so before you commit. Planting into a spot that holds water is money spent twice.
